Every Child Matters. A few months back, our team connected to talk about ways we could authentically recognize and contribute to Indigenous Peoples Day (June 21), Orange Shirt Day and National Day for Truth and Reconciliation (September 30).

Our extended pizzeria family includes a connection to amazing local artist Rande Cook (@leaf_modern_gallery), a Kwakwaka’wakw multimedia artist born in Alert Bay. Rande created a beautiful image for us. It honours the spirits of the children who attended residential schools; indigenous children in the centre, in a place of memory, honour and remembering.

We printed Rande’s image onto black tees, shared with our team and have some for sale too! $10 from the sale of each Every Child Matters shirt is donated to the Indian Residential Schools Survivor Society (IRSSS). Order online or pick up from your favourite pizzeria.

Prima Strada at Home – Meal Hack #1 Sausage, Polenta & Spinach

We’re HUGE fans of meal “hacks.”

A hack, in our house, is a great meal in 30 minutes or less: made at home or with help. Our favourite meal hack is pizza, salad, gelato or tiramisu from Prima Strada. Another favourite? Sausage, polenta and spinach.

Here’s how to use 2 of Prima Strada’s favourite house made goods – sausage and polenta – to make dinner in 30 minutes (well, it was pretty close!). Add spinach and you’ve got all the food groups covered!

Free Colouring Sheets

I love colouring sheets! While I do appreciate a good activity book, colouring sheets are grand because everyone can take part.

Of course, Prima Strada colouring sheets are mostly pizza focused but sometimes, you need to change it up a bit.  I asked my sister and nieces to help. Below are their most excellent creations and I also included in an old favourite.
