Let’s celebrate the Bees!

Let’s celebrate the bees! This past weekend, we caught a bit of sun on the patio and surveyed our front lawn. We’ve got too many dandelions for Geoffrey’s sensibility but I assured him a few dandelions are more than okay. Actually, they are great for bees!

This May, help us celebrate the bees. Prima Strada will donate a $1 from the purchase of each Feature Pizza and Feature Dessert to the Cowichan Beekeepers Club.

The Features:

Dolci – Lemon Almond Polenta Cake w/scoop of house made Fior di latte gelato, drizzled with Cowichan honey, garnished with wildflowers for $12

Pizza – Olive oil, sausage, ricotta, grapes, arugula, honey for $23

A few years back, we partnered with the Cowichan Beekeepers Club; we visited hives and learned all about bees. It was an amazing experience and we’re very happy to once again be helping the club and the bees. The Cowichan Beekeepers Club is raising funds to help improve their mobile education training trailer. Last season, a new 7x 14’ enclosed cargo trailer was donated to the club. Here’s how they will use the funds:

Long Table in Cobble Hill

That’s right, the team at Pizzeria Prima Strada along with Blue Grouse Estate Winery Winemaker Bailey Williamson will join forces for two new Long Table events in Cobble Hill.

Event dates:

Wednesday, November 13th @ 6:30pm – buy ticket – SOLD OUT Thursday, November 28th @ 6:30pm – buy tickets – SOLD OUT

The evening begins at 6:30pm at our Cobble Hill location. While Bailey shares his knowledge and answers your questions about Cowichan Valley’s Blue Grouse wines, you’ll sip vino and snack on antipasti. Dinner will follow – served family-style.

Purchase your seat from the PPS Events Page. Cost is $55 per person (does not include gratuity). The evening includes a 3-course meal with paired wine tasting along the way.

Road Trip To Cowichan

We love road trips, be it by car or bike, and we love to explore Cowichan! Our list of really good things to see, do and eat in Cowichan is a long one. From favourite hiking spots (with instagrammable moments) to sipping a glass of wine at one of the many vineyards, there’s something for everyone.

Because it’s how we feel about road trip stops, it’s important to have a little something for everyone.

At Prima Strada in Cobble Hill, whether you need to stretch your legs, bribe with gelato, grab a pizza to-go or do your part and sample some of Cowichan’s finest local craft beer/wine/cider on a sunny patio, we’ve got you covered.

Don’t forget the TP – Toys, Toiletries & Toques for the Cowichan Valley

Join us for wood-fired pizza this November – bring your friends, family, a toy and don’t forget the TP.

Toilet paper is a necessity but you’d be surprised how many families in Cowichan don’t have enough. Beginning today, PPS Cobble Hill will be a drop off point for the 8th Annual Toys, Toiletries & Toques (TTT) drive in the Cowichan Valley.

We know you know this is a great cause – one you can really get behind. Still, we wanted to offer a little extra incentive. We’re giving away Chemainus Theatre tickets! For every new toy or non-food item donated to our TTT box before November 30, 2018 you’ll receive a ballot to be entered in a draw to WIN Chemainus Theatre Little Women tickets plus dinner at the theatre!

How to enter:

1. Bring in a new, non-food item to PPS Cobble Hill: a toy, toilet paper, personal hygiene items, deodorant, shampoo, conditioner, warm clothes, slippers etc before December 1, 2018.
