Creating a Little Free Library gives PPS an opportunity to share the books we read, enjoy and want to share. We are very excited to announce the installation of our very own Little Free Library at PPS Cook Street! Leave a book, take a book, share a book or simply have a look!
As part of Campari’s Negroni Week fundraiser, the participating location picks a designated charity. There were many worthy organizations and we were thrilled to discover Little Free Library!
‘But who knew sharing a few used books could also build community, bring neighbours together, inspire youths, encourage fitness and spark recycling efforts? Fans of Little Free Libraries, that’s who!’ -Little Free Library Steward
We’re a group of readers at PPS. We read a lot of books in a wide range of genres. Years before Prima Strada, I worked for independent book stores in Portland, Oregon and the San Francisco Bay Area. I was paid to read books, to talk about books and I could expand my personal library! Fresh from grad school, it was a dream job. I loved it. Needless to say, LFL hooked us. With libraries all around Victoria (and beyond), we were inspired to built our very own! Each and every Little Free Library is special and ours is no exception! It’s a lot of time, love and devotion to create one.
P.S. If you find yourself in Portland, don’t miss Powell’s Books. For me, it’s like going to Naples and not eating pizza. Trust me, you’ve gotta do it
