PPS' new house wine

PPS & Averill Creek collaborate on house wine!

PPS and Averill Creek have collaborated to create Prima Strada’s house wine! In Italy, house wine is always local. Sometimes even as close as across the road. And it’s always good. Local wine, local food, friends and family – it’s a delicious combination!

The friendship with Averill Creek started in 2010 when the PPS team first visited the winery. Averill Creek is the largest estate winery on Vancouver Island; the only winery to be located on the slope of a mountain, Mount Prevost. Prima Strada’s Vino della Casa, Prima Prevost and Prima Grigio, are 100% estate grown and hand crafted in the Cowichan Valley.

PPS’ Andrew Johnson and Averill Creek’s Andy Johnson worked out the details: tasting and blending and finally bottling!

Recommended pairings: Everything! But if we have to choose, here’s a few favorites. Drink Prima Grigio with a Pizza Margherita & Funghi supremo. Sip Prima Prevost with Polpette della Casa & Pizza Diavola!

What your wine choice says about you:

Prima Prevost = Sophistication, you command attention & love a good dark chocolate
Prima Grigio = Free spirited, life of the party, dancing on tables, pleasure to be around

Our new Vino della Casa is a result of two island companies working together – a partnership representing our shared values of passion, teamwork and community. Stop by for a sip or a glass of these tasty island wines at your favorite pizzeria! Cin cin!
