Speaking of wine… Let’s talk Sage Hills.
An organic winery in Summerland BC, Sage Hills focuses on producing premium wines from only three grape varietals: Pinot Gris, Gewurtztraminer and Pinot Noir.
Let’s take a look at their Pinot Gris – highly concentrated and complex, exuding performance and class.
According to Andrew (PPS Sommelier extraordinaire), you’ll notice a slight pink hue followed by an “electric” nose. The typical apple/lemon nose of a BC Pinot Gris is dramatically enhanced! (Andrew gets excited about wine, but he’ll never steer you wrong.)
When sipping, look for aromas of orange blossom, white grapefruit, nectarine and lemon zest to precede flavours of tangerine, kiwi, white peach and honeydew – all framed by bracing acidity and cool minerality. Take your time with this wine. You’ll be rewarded for your patience: the complex aromas and palate develop as the wine warms up.
Why the detailed tasting notes? Sage Hills’ Pinot Gris is now available at PPS Bridge – and will soon hit both locations. At $9 a glass, this wine is an absolute steal. Enjoy while you can. It’s available for a limited time only.
