Barbera Fact File

Why you should try it: soft on tannin & full of spicy dark cherry flavors, it has a shameless yum factor and – with naturally vibrant acidity – is fabulous with food (especially pizza)

Must try matches – pepperoni pizza (we suggest Luc’s Pepperoni Pizza found only at Pizzeria Prima Strada of course).

Pedigree: Barbera rivals Sangiovese for most planted red in Italy; once known as “the people’s wine” in the Piedmont region, Barbera d’Asti and Barbera d’Alba account for much of the red wine consumed there.

PPS offers Batasolio Sovrana Barbera d’Alba by the glass, 1/2 ltr and bottle.
