Join us at Bridge Street for our monthly Long Table Dinners, a social communal dining experience. Each month we feature a new Italian regional cuisine.

Long Table Dining Series

It started with months of talk about our favorite meals - meals with family and friends, memorable meals at home and while traveling. We always talk about food and wine, but these conversations all came back to the energy created when you share a meal with those that enjoy it as much as you do. Thus the Prima Strada Long Table Dinner was born. It’s a long table full of food, wine, fun and great conversation (between bites).

Each month we focus on a different region of Italy to create a delicious menu - Prima Strada's take on the classic dishes of the region. The meal is typically 4 courses with paired wines - one part dinner party, one part Italian wine club served up with a healthy dose of laughter.

This month's long table: Emilia Romagna

Join us at the Long Table on Wednesday & Thursday May 30 & 31 as we revisit the region of Emilia Romagna.

Located in Northern Italy, Emilia-Romagna includes two distinct areas with Bologna, the region's capital, more or less the dividing line. Emilia lies to the west of Bologna, while Romagna lies to the east stretching to the Adriatic Sea. In Emilia is the ancient Roman-built Via Emilia and in Romagna the historic town of Ravenna. The region is home to many famous household names from opera (Verdi & Luciano Pavarotti), cars (Ferrari & Lamborghini), fashion (Giorgio Armani), film (Fellini) and of course food (Parma, Modena, Bologna).

We’ll test your pallet with a sampling of the region’s celebrated balsamic vinegar. Can you identify the true Italian balsamic made in the Emilian cities of Modena and Reggio Emilia?

The Food

Insalata di Rucola e Parmigiano - salad of local arugula & shaved Parmigiano with balsamic vinaigrette, Asparagi con Prosciutto di Parma - local asparagus with prosciutto & hard-boiled egg, Zuppa di Pesce - fish & shellfish soup and Crostada di Mandorle - Almond Meringue tart

The Wine

Lambrusco di Sorbara Frizzante, Casolari, Trebbiano di Romagna & Sangiovese di Romagna

Dinner begins at 7 pm, seating is limited to 16 each evening. The cost is $50 per person plus hst & gratuity ($65).

Dinner begins at 7 p.m. Seating is limited to 16 each evening. Due the limited number of seats, reservations are no longer being accepted. We humbly request you purchase your seat at the table in advance.

Can't make it? We understand you can’t always attend events you’ve planned. Booking a spot at the Long Table is like buying a ticket to a concert. Unfortunately, we can’t offer refunds on a per customer basis. But, just like a concert ticket, you can pass off your receipt to let a friend join instead.

Parla Italiano?

Looking to learn a bit of Italian or improve your conversation skills? So are we! Join "Professor" Gabriella at PPS University for dinner and conversation.

We meet twice per month on Tuesdays @ 7 p.m.
Confirmed dates: May 8 & 22, June 5 & 19
Location: PPS Bridge Street

Topics: We'll begin with introductions and pronunciation. Each month, we'll explore a new theme: food & drink, ordering at a restaurant, socializing at a party, nature, at the beach, animals. Future topics will be determined by student feedback!

Details: Dinner served family style: salad, a small plate of something delicious from Chef Alex, pizza & dessert. Beverages not included.

Cost: $18 for adults $12 for kids (under 12) plus tax & gratuity.

Other Events

Our mobile wood burning oven, is a smaller version of the ovens in our pizzerias, built on a custom trailer. You may have seen it in action at Sea Cider’s Apple Day, Feast of Fields, Oak Bay Night Market or Tour of Farms.
